Big Big NEWS! in Goat Town

Well, out of the depths of Goat Town comes some great exciting news. We now have our own server, so soon we can start providing some customized hosting options and email addresses. Also John Haldoupis Designs website, is now officially under production, the basics were finalized on Wednesday, and are now off an running. It should be up near the end of July barring any unforeseen events. Progress on the DVD for the children's center is kind of stalled, as I have yet to receive a video from them. Only a week left to get it done. If you are interested in getting a site setup to be hosted, designed, or just want an email address for yourself, shoot us an email and we can get it setup for you. Our site is looking and being updated more come end of summer, these jobs keep pouring in,...a good thing you know. More costumes will be for sale come August as well, we are going to connect them through Jack's website. That's the big news for now. -ED

Of life, Leprauchans, and losing...

Well the move is now officially over, and life can resume back to normal. Well almost. The studio still needs a lot of work, especially building the new desk. Anywho that should only be a couple of weeks. Like the blog on Rochesterblog.com, it would be nice to play hooky for a day from everything and get it all finished up but I don't see that happening soon. Watched the season wrapup yesterday for last summers '4400', interesting show, interesting enough to make me watch the season premiere over the Tony awards. Also by way of note 'Leprachuan' was on last night. The Braves continue thier recent skid against bad teams. Eh, oh well. Til' next time. -ED

Movin' Out!

Ahh, the stress of moving is almost done. Gotta love it. Within the week, we will be looking to have everything moved into our new studio. Then all the new projects begin. John Haldoupis, artistic director at Blackfriars Theatre, is having us design his personal website, so that looks like our big project of the summer. Also we are finishing up the DVD for TLC Adventures in Learning, that is due at the end of June. So it will be heavy crunch time once the move is complete. Gotta pay the bills right? On another note about some things baseball. We are big fans of the Atlanta Braves, and I must say this year they have caught everyone by surprise. Its funny to see how many naysayers there are out there. But you know what this is what it comes down to: Cox, Mazzone, and J.S. Those three have formed the smoothest working environment for not only the players, but for themselves. Just as anyone in the restaurant biz knows, once you find the right ingredients for the right recipe, you leave it alone, and don't mess with it. To their credit, they continue to amaze with their tinkering each year, and their devotion to continue the formula that brings them to the plate come October. The thing that amazes me is also their devotion to "projects". If you have watched the Braves over the last years you know what I mean. Wrecks come in, get polished up, work great, have career years, then they walk away and crash again. Why is that? Simple, its all in the recipe. They expect the best out of everyone, and treat everyone the same, those that don't flow with the program are gone faster than you can spell J.S.'s name. The management doesn't take crap. And what they produce year in and year out proves it. Two "projects" this year are interesting ( I could say three, but Jordan is Jordan). The other night I watched the crazy game against NY, and then watched in horror as Kolb actually saved the game. It was like standing in a room while someone drags the nails across the blackboard,...and you can't do anything about it. I loved watching the shots of Bobby in the dugout, oh was he perturbed. But anywho, my point is this, either Kolb and the other project will find their nitch and climb on board, or they will be gone. And Cox, Mazz, and J.S. will continue to do what they do every year, make everyone else jealous. -ED

The force is back!

Just wanted to write my first impressions on the new and final Star Wars. Awesome. Loved it. Will see it again. I had the 12:01 tickets to see it, but 5 minutes after waiting in line, someone approached me and handed me tickets to a 7:30 media preview. I just couldn't resist. So I went in and loved every friggin' minute of it. It is weird b/c there is a definite finality on this one. You walked out knowing that there will be no more Star Wars, despite all odd ball rumors. This is it. I was in on cinema history. Today millions will pour into theaters and experience the same last breath, and wonder of this film. Isn't life great? - ED

Of trees, and termites and minds...

Sunday's can be very interesting to say the least. They tend to range in their variancy more than any other day I suppose. Right now I look out the window at a tree, 100 or more years old completely still. 10 minutes ago it looked as if it was going to blow over. That tree is an amazing story in itself. The tree stands around 75-90 feet high, and not much too really look at. This interesting tree is a chestnut tree. I have heard rumors they are poisonous chestnuts, but never gained the courage, nor stupidity to try 'em. The tree is pretty much become a miracle tree in that it is still standing, you see the tree is hollow. Termites. Lots of 'em. I think however, even they have vacated the habitat within the last few years. Filling up on their delicacy, and moving on. Don't ask we why I decided to write about this tree, but all I know is I see it day in and day out, when I wake and when I head to sleep. Maybe its the fact that I see so many people with so much unfilled potential. Like this hollow tree, look solid on the outside, but have decayed within. Sunday's have always been a good reminder in my life as the potential within all of us. Never be afraid to live up to it. One day this tree will fall, but what memory will it leave behind? All I think I will remember is the victors who have moved on to other areas. Let us not be hollow, let us leave a lasting memory, let us fill our potential, for it is we, an we alone who decide that. This poor tree had no defense but we do. Our minds. The mind and will can change so much of what lies ahead, and help us forget those useless things that can drag us down or break our branches apart when the storm of life blows. -ED

Starwars countdown...time for things to go boom boom...

Sorry 'bout the title, couldn't think of anything clever today. Just getting excited about the upcoming 'Star Wars'. Its amazing to think that the trilogy expanded to a (what the appropriate be, if you call a six piece band a sextet,...would it be sexolgy?)...See inset, is finally coming to close. What it must be like to be inside of George's mind. What a man. He has plastered (not him physically, but who knows) all over the place this week. The USA Today, had an interesting read this morning, then another blog I ran into along the way the "Huffington Post", has a brief clip about its anti-bush theme...whatever. I won't even address that last one. But I encourage you to read the HPost, quite a few big names writing for them, just started on Monday. But any ways, Star Wars is ending! This mans long long journey has completed its rounds. You know you can talk to people left and right about being involved in part of Star Wars. Frankly, everyone knows probably at least one person who has worked on the saga. I mean come on, Bacon has nothing on Star Wars. Star Wars is part of each of us, it was born with us, and it will live on after us. But for George, he has been there from the beginning, its his baby, she's graduated college, and its time to break the chains. Hope fully he will take a year off and team up with Steven and start directing, or writing again. He is brilliant. Speaking of Steven, he is probably the only other person who this project means so much too. Anyways we are all excited here and can't wait to be a part of the mania at 12:01...again. -ED

Late night updates...kinda like Cheez-its and IBC

Ahhh...gotta love late nights. Spent last night getting Bagel Bin Cafe back online. They kind of ran out of the money to fully support an online site of thier own, so spent the lst week moving all thier site on to my host, in addition to that, also installing a wireless system within thier cafe. So if you have a chance and are in the neighbourhood, stop in and donate some money, it is only $1.00 for two hours worth of access. So after wranglin' with the guys at Sputnik (no not the station altough it could be interesting) and Pay Pal, the system is up an fully operational.

So now needless to say, time is opening up a lil'. Godspell is still running at Blackfriars, not much we had to do this time. We took some pictures for publicity stuff, and only had to do six SFX. You can read City Newspapers review here.

Just got a call from JIOWorks, we have a recording tonight for one of the chorus pieces in Alice.

Testing out some new gear

Testing out mobile

Edit: Thought this is a cool new feature they just added testing it to see if it worked, and it did, now I can update from the phone. Hmmm....interesting, very interesting. Well things around Goat Town have been all hustle and bustle, lots going on this week. First boss went to NYC and got soaked..heheh...then got sick. A lil' set back on the projects round here, because when he returned Bosss father had a heart attack. Not a fun day.

Also we are moving the studio and home, so now that is going to eat up the time with projects. Two major ones coming up and ongoing, a Video CD for a local Childrens Daycare for thier graduation, and the ongoing adventures of Alice. Yep that's right, Alice in Wonderland! Been involved with this now going on year 3 but it is nearing an end. We have pretty much finished all the recordings for this new inspired musical. Some setbacks has been finding a cast for the chorus stuff....go figure...and Queen of Hearts having tooth problems. Actually the root is the root of the problems...never mind.

All that and a side of Cheerios please!

Theatre is great, sometimes we stress and stress about things, but the magic of it all is that somehow it all just seems to fit together. Such is the case with Blackfriars Theatre's current production, Great Expectations. Well, correction, at least in our case. Currently as we write this, the final (hopefully) discs are being prepared. The show opens Saturday. With a little luck this show will help some people turn their heads a little and notice what our company is doing, and drive a little more business our way.

The greener side of things...

I was once told that "Patience brings forth many fruits". Well things are back to norm, and all I gotta say is that that statement is looking truer by the minute. The system is back and running and online, bugs have been worked out and GE is nearing completion with two days to go. But alas, the hard part is still left. -ED

Day one...and a half...

Well today begins my wee little journey of trying to keep this up to date! Today around the studio we begin the heavy work on Blackfriars Theatres, Great Expectations. The SFX design is all but complete, and now the video begins to get animated. It will be interesting to see how this all turns out, hopefully for the good, the theme the boss director decided on is a good one, and hopefully we can stay with in that. Wish us luck. Cheers. -ED
